Next summer, Young Pilots USA will again host its annual fly-in event with the 3rd Annual Goodspeed Fly-In. Located at Goodspeed Airport (42B) in East Haddam, CT, the 2021 and 2022 events were days full of flying fun right on the Connecticut River, and the third edition will continue this tradition in 2024.

About the Airport

A privately-owned, public-use airport, Goodspeed is the perfect location to host our event. Featuring a 2,100' asphalt runway and certified 4,500' water runway, it's shaping up to become a haven for the aviation community under new ownership by friends of our organization. Pilots flying in should refer to the VFR sectional and chart supplement to learn more, and contact Young Pilots USA for further questions.

Event Details

The 3rd Annual Goodspeed Fly-In, scheduled for the summer of 2024, will provide lots of community for young people in aviation and other entertainment. While our 2021 event was open to the public, since 2022 we have kept our event focused exclusively on Young Pilots USA members and their guests. We hope that future events will be open to the public, in logistical collaboration with Goodspeed Airport and other groups, but for the foreseeable future, admission will only be open to Young Pilots USA members. However, becoming a member is extremely easy! Please feel free to join; you will automatically receive all communications regarding the event.

Admission & Rates

The Goodspeed Fly-In has been a totally free event in the past, from admission to parking (for both cars and aircraft) to camping. As we mark a further expansion of the event, stay tuned to see if this changes. We are currently evaluating the financial situation of the event, in the hopes of retaining this aspect. However, there is a strong chance that we will have to charge a minimal admission fee in order to make our new model work.
